Numark NS7III

Numark NS7III hits our shelves at the end of this week, so here's an overview of what you can expect from the Numark powerhouse. So fundamentally, its a four-deck controller for Serato DJ, which has three high-resolution colour screens and an interactive control surface, meaning that the platters move like a conventional turntable.

You may think that the 'NS' sounds familiar? Well yes, its the 3rd in the line of the NS series... The NS7III aims to give its user the best of both worlds, with digital sound but with a retro feel and also the full colour screens give a vibrant visual of Serato. Just like Numark’s successful NV controller, two screens provide moving waveforms, playhead, deck, and FX status. A third, central screen gives the DJ a dedicated view of their track library. This third screen can also be switched to display stackable parallel waveforms for complete beat matching control of their active programs, just like you can with a conventional Serato setup. This kind of unit gives the user the option to completely keep their laptop out of sight, to allow better interaction with the crowd, a must if you dont want to look like that you're checking your emails.

The NS7III also has a metal construction, four-channel audio mixer, touch-activated controls and MPC performance pads, borrowing world class technology from their cousins at Akai. Its jet black appearance makes the unit look so professional too, which it is, so this really sets the bar high for all controllers out there. The NS7III is plug and play compatible with Serato DJ, no additional purchase of the software is required and is Serato NoiseMap ready.
