Ortofon's Classic Concorde

Mounting and aligning a DJ cart to a headshell, can be a slow, fiddly and awkward process; there are tiny nuts and screws to fit, and tiny little connectors to join the cart to the headshell wiring. Then there's the whole headache of cartridge alignment, setting needle overhang and other tedious tasks... In the mid-1980s, Ortofon came up with the great idea of making DJ carts which simply plugged straight into the tonearm. No headshell needed, no fiddly setup, just plug in and go! The long, slender, "droop nose" design instantly gained them the title of Concordes, after the similar shaped nose of the famous jet plane. Simple, rugged and great sounding, Ortofon Concordes have become a real industry standard for DJ carts. While many famous names have come and gone over the years, Ortofon's Concordes have held in there; long enough to enjoy the renewed interest in vinyl that everyone's been talking about recently. Newly redesigned from the ground up, Ortofon's new Concorde range is both familiar to users of old, yet also offers very welcome updates to the classic design. Of note is an easily replaceable and reinforced arm lift, a widened and strengthened body for stability in use, and some seriously cool colour coordination!
