It’s safe to say that the built-in soundcard on most computers is not always the best option when it comes to recording or monitoring audio. We have a wide variety of different audio interfaces from single input and stereo output home recording devices right through to studio level firewire interfaces capable of recording full bands at one time. Aside for the ability of being able to record multiple instruments at once, a lot of interfaces made for creating music will have phantom power to use with condenser microphones too. The quality is generally a lot higher with interfaces such as Focusrite 2i2 using 96 KHz, 24-bit conversion rates.

Many audio interfaces are supplied with music production software, however if you’re looking for everything you need to make music at home you may want to view our complete recording packages too.
