Pioneer would like to introduce the TORAIZ SQUID (SeQUencer Inspirational Device) a brand new piece of hardware that takes your music production to a whole new level, with a host of features to make your next production even better than your last.

Intuitive workflow

Have fun creating phrases by tapping the 16 multicolored LED rubber pads in the Step Edit section. Set step parameters and play live as if the pads were keys on a keyboard. Combine various sequence functions such as Interpolation and Harmonizer to help build your sounds.

Interpolation

Interpolation helps you instantly make phrases. Set each parameter for the beginning, middle, and end of the steps and quickly assign the pitch and dynamics to bring your idea to life.

Transpose Mode

Tap the pads to switch phrases on the fly with Transpose mode. Use this function to immediately adjust the mood of a phrase or rapidly raise the pitch of a step. The sounds you create can be recorded in real time.

Randomizer

In need of some inspiration? Try randomly changing the parameters of a step to alter the phrase and get new ideas from there. SQUID will individually randomize the trigger On/Off, pitch, gate, velocity, and CC mode control values. In addition to the normal sporadic sounds, trigger On/Off and pitch incorporate a more musical randomization thanks to the Euclidean algorithm – perfect for when you want to quickly generate phrases.

Pattern Set Mode

This sequencer has 16 MIDI tracks, and you can make up to 64 patterns per track. Call Pattern Set at any time by immediately saving a combination of patterns created by each track and use it to conveniently check the rough composition of your music.

Save Your "Happy Accidents"

The SQUID records performance information in the background so you’ll never lose phrases you create accidentally. When you’re experimenting and hear something you love, use the Time Warp feature to recall and save it as a sequence pattern for your next track.

Import & Export Fast

The Toraiz AS-1 is a fantastic monophonic analogue synth capable of creating unique sounds that can be added to your production workflow with ease.

Collaboration Is Key

Developed in conjunction with Dave Smith and his Prophet-6 synth, it features 2 voltage controlled oscillators that have continuously-variable triangle, sawtooth, and pulse wave shapes. Add on 2 voltage filters, a 4 pole, resonate self oscillating low pass filter and a 2 pole high pass filter to give you a truly unique soundscape.

Programme It Your Way

Use the synth to programme and sculpt one of a kind sounds from the variety of oscillators so they can be fired off at a later date in the booth or the studio. You can use any of the 495 library programmes and 64 step sequence that can be edited individually on the fly.

Unleash Your Creativity

Be creative with the Prophet-6-derived dual FX engine and use a single effect or pair 2 together to add extra texture to your sounds. FX includes Bucket Brigade Delay, Distortion, Ring Modulation, Chorus and Maestro Phaser.

Keys & Scale

Use the AS-1 to assign keys in a scale mode to add an extra layer to your performance or studio session.
